With almost two decades of either studying or working within the architectural industry, I made the difficult yet not so difficult decision to switch fields. I have a strong background in design, mainly from the sign industry. I am continuously inspired by the colors, architecture and natural beauty of everyday life.
Patrice Horvath Design, Patrice Horvath
Patrice Horvath is a licensed artist and designer based in New Jersey. She earned her BFA in Graphic Design at Montclair State University. After graduation she worked in the art department of a full-service communications company for 3 years, designing for over 15 custom publications and New York Spaces magazine. For five years following that she was a designer at a boutique agency in Montclair where she worked with clients big and small on a variety of projects for web, print, branding and advertising.
A few years ago she began painting again, mostly in watercolor and gouache, and has pursued that passion ever since by creating patterns from her designs and selling artwork in her shop.
In 2016, she struck out on her own. She continues to work with clients to help them establish their brands and create beautiful illustration and patterns for products in the gift/stationery, home decor and apparel markets.

A childhood love of books led me to study creative writing and art in hopes of writing and illustrating my own books. However, the magic of children’s book illustrations captured my imagination and hasn't let go. Illustration became my true passion, with an emphasis on the cute or clever - the quirkier the better. I find I am most inspired when given a challenge to create something specific and unique. My style is fanciful and whimsical with a pinch of modern.
